fire them all and replace them with AI and robotics.
If the strike is for higher wages.....
I have respect for labor. I get that it's low-skilled work and hard to argue that they deserve higher wages, but executives are making so much money, and what value do they provide? Let's buy back our stock so we can pump the stock and hit our targets and get our bonuses! Any moron can apply this strategy. They get bonuses while an Amazon driver isn't allowed two bathroom breaks. The pendulum has to swing back to a more balanced position; right now, the suits are abusing their positions. The fiat standard is a disaster for working-class people.
I don't agree with the disparity of what someone is getting versus what they are worth.
I do think that these type of displays, for what shouldn't be considered a career type job, only cost these people in the long and accelerates what I commented on in my first post, AI and robotics.
Just like fast food employee strikes. Try putting in some effort and bettering yourself and get a better job. Forcing the hand that feeds will more often result in that hand going away.
Do not disagree on the fact that those are not jobs that are meant to be careers. However, I think it's a joke what executives are paid. Most executives are not worth what they are paid; most of them suck. It is why they all needed bailouts during crises, because they never prepared for one, they were to busy buying back stock with company money so they can pump stock to get bonuses. Who needs a rainy day fund? Tax payers will be forced to save us! The taxpayers bailed those pieces of shit out so they can continue buying yachts and doing a shit job. Sad. Pendulum got to swing back because right now its abuse in favor of the rich.
And I agreed with you on the disparity of pay.
It does have to swing back but these displays won't do that.
I agree it won't, but I understand where the frustrations come from. I can sympathize. After the financial crisis, the Occupy Wall Street movement was getting close to protesting the right thing, but the government did a great job of conquering and dividing since then, so we started fighting each other instead of them.
I don't believe the government is involved here though this is Bezo's party.
I think the better move would be for people to quit or just not get these jobs.
That way they will be forced to make them more attractive with better incentives. These companies will do everything they can to increase the bottom line.
This strike won't change that. They may get a little bit more money and then this will happen later on down the road.....
Big corps are the government. Almost every politican is backed by a lobbyist arm of these corps. Why they are so comfortable abusing their positions and confident they will receive bailouts no matter what happens. Got to clean the swamp. Yea these efforts will lead to more of their jobs being automated down the line. Temporary relief for worse outcomes down the line dont disagree there. Hard problems I do not have the solution for. I would ban the ability for Corps to buy back their own stock its a very bad incentive loop going on for executives to enrichen themselves and put company in vulnerable position during stock market crashes.
Surprised. Did not think they'd actually allow unionization. I haven't been following though.
