I have a theory that the softness of the weather out west is part of what contributed to the decline in America’s culture.
Soft weather makes for soft people—aaand I still love that I live in a place that mostly has great weather, just too bad it contributed to the downfall of civilization.
Also, elders didn’t make it out west as well so a lot of wisdom left behind. / new money & short time pref gold rush vibes.
Makes sense as civilization js the process of provisioning against uncertainty. That said, the coming shit storm from clown world collapsing may well usher in just the kind of pervasive uncertainty that elicits full normie conversion to the anchor that is bitcoin. Action / reaction, the pendulum doth swingeth
There's some power in living with seasons, I think. Different cycles to potentiate certain behaviors/patterns. The ability to adapt/pivot within each can be a very low time preference exercise -- especially with harsh winters in the mix!
