nostr.com is confusing because it tries to sell you a NIP-05 right off the bat and then prompts you to create a centralized user account on their site separate from your keys, which is a lousy onboarding flow IMHO.

I am totally open to what the most think what is best. I am only good in drawing not text/ marketing etc :)

Just this morning I was trying to send someone somewhere to get their Nostr key pairs, and hesitated between .org and .org because both felt iffy. So I ended up sending them to the Wikipedia page (and most likely not onboarding them at all) 🤷🏻‍♂️

Hesitated between .org and .com

I know what we need…another website!

As a matter of fact I don't even remember how I got my keys to begin with. I think through Iris, like going on to the Twitter site and being prompted to make an account. I don't think I ever visited the protocol FAQ sites.

I generated mine using astral.ninja!

I got mine on alby is that gonna be a problem?

Nope, you’re fine.

Actually now that you mention it, it might have been that. Anyway, my point being, I was "onboarded" as follows:

1. Hear about Nostr somewhere online (I think it must have been some Youtube video because I had dropped off Twitter at least a couple of years earlier and I don't have any other "social media").

2. Get a couple of client names from there.

3. Log on.

Alby wallet, signing extensions, LN, NIP-05 and all that came later. I was copy-pasting my nsec to log on for a while before all that.
