How is holding not using? I'm not using my gun when I keep it in my safe, but it is still keeping me safe.
Hoarders do not act and therefore have no say in validation. It is merchants who enforce consensus rules. Economically active actors are the ones who define what Bitcoin is. Not hoarders.
This is my basis for the statement that hoarding is not using.
Nah, I run a node, mine and buy Bitcoin, and accept i. I'm contributing to the network so my holding is justified. How the fuck are merchants enforcing the network.
And I do so, so other can hodl and one day someone will offer them something worth what they have. Don't be sour you don't have anything to give to that person that isn't worth their bitcoin to them.
If you accept bitcoin through your own node then you are an economically active merchant, and my statement isn't targeting you.
Doesn't matter, I still disagree with your point because I have family who simply buys and holds, they're using bitcoin too and you're point is dumb. On a long enough timeframe, all bitcoin is used.
