I’ve watched the Core vs Knots debate a couple of times now.

The Core team haven’t worked out we’re not talking about Core or OP_RETURN.

They assume their intelligence and understanding of Core's code is the same as general intelligence or general knowledge.

In business I saw this often. Domain intelligent people assuming their superior domain expertise translated into the real world.

It rarely does, when it does, you get a Steve Jobs.

When it doesn’t you get a Steve Wozniak (no offence intended Steve W, I respect you hugely).
