Jesus/God and Christianity is a belief system that helps shape your actions.
Think of these analogies as railroads. Fiat rails or bitcoin rails.
Belief in Jesus or God, or a higher power for that matter is one railroad system and believing in nihilism is another railroad system.
Just think of them as blueprints for your brain.
And remember that just because you don’t believe in him doesn’t mean that he doesn’t exist for others! We are talking about an abstract through texts for heavens sake.

Stars shine. Its not true if you say they don't shine so there is nothing abstract about it.
Jesus is either real or he is not real; he is not real for some and not for others.
Most believers take the bible literally, for them it is not an abstraction. Same with Muslims, Buddhists, Jews and their texts.
People are free to express their religious delusions or not, but I find it amusing that they cannot logically defend their positions and usually end up blocking me or telling me to fuck off. 🤣

Tell your brother that he is not an atheist as that is just another delusion the same as a believer.
The only rational position for anyone is that of the agnostic as none of us is sure with absolute certainty of the existence of god or the reality of an afterlife.
Anyone who says differently is under self delusion.
