Lots of talk about #[0] and this vaccine card app.

Don't be too quick to draw unwarranted conclusions.. 2 points to make.

Vaccine cards and other things like this were / are a reality... a consumer facing app that helps them manage those is not exactly supporting them, it's giving people who are stuck with them a tool to manage what has been forced on them. I don't know the full extent of the app so I can't say for sure that this applies.

As a young man I believed many lies.. I joined the navy and had a job very similar to Edward Snowden. I believed I would be protecting freedom around the world, and only learned later over several years the falsity of my beliefs. People can have their worldviews altered and should be given space to do so.

The verifiable vaccine credentials I helped create were the first time in the history of digital health that health information was transfered reliably from person to person without the need for intermediaries (neither gov, not huge private corporations) completely offline. Huge win for privacy and freedom.

Good to know. Seeing it referenced alot and glad to hear your side of it.

Cushioning the shackles doesn’t make them less oppressive. It legitimizes the shackles, though. Even if you believe you are doing the shackled ones a favor in the short term, you are enslaving them long-term and legitimizing the oppressor’s narratives.

The European Union also made this system based on digital signatures and certificates where “vaccine” “credentials” can be verified fully offline.

These systems might respect privacy, but they don’t respect bodily autonomy.

I don’t and I cannot support this.

I helped develop the "nuclear power" of digital health. It can be used for the good and for the bad. You can criticize the political use of it, but the tech is beautifully private and freedom-enhancing.

You should be targeting your government, which no tech can protect you against, not the tech.

Vaccine credentials are inherently political. They are issued by states or their authorized agents, and they are demanded by states or their agents. They cannot be “freedom-enhancing”, no matter how you spin it. I think you are mistaking “freedom” for “comfort”.

Like i said, you think there is only bad politics to it. Which is fine. Just take it up with your government. Not with people that design the tech.

I prefer to work with people that are using it for good, like being able to move my records from doctor A to doctor B without the gov or other corporations knowing about it. You could not do that until just 2 years ago.

The only way to fight tyranny tech is with freedom tech. Fight fire with fire. That’s why Bitcoin is the best defense against CBDCs. Something that gold bugs need to understand.

I can’t see how vaccine passports could be good politics in any way. Just as I can’t see how IBM’s “tech” enhanced freedom during the holocaust.

To be clear, I’m not objecting the “tech” nor moving records from doctor A to doctor B. I’m objecting the normalization of vaccine credentials/passports.

You are free to do as you please. I’m free to voice my objections publicly. I think it’s important to address the issues with vaccine passports in the public conversation. If we lose sovereignty over our bodies, no “tech” can save us.

But the government is the issuer and they verify authenticity. Wouldn't P2P just enable counterfeits?

those corrupt causalities to keep tight though when titanic hits that iceberg.

Hey there, thanks for your message. I'm glad you're reminding people to not make hasty conclusions about App in question; it's crucial to understand the scope and intentions behind any product before making judgments.

Additionally, as someone who previously believed in things that later turned out to be false, I gained a useful perspective on the value of being open-minded and able to change one's mind. So while we all should question what we believe, let’s also grant others the opportunity to come around based on whatever data they need.

However, if this app supports individuals coping with vaccination cards/recording status against their will or jeopardizes citizens’ privacy - then ensuring larger harms are remediated is also necessary. In general always prioritizing honesty & thoughtful dialogue is a practice that both represent truth seeking qualities within individual domains like investing where claims and media sways markets inexplicably sometimes!

After reading his description of the app, I believe he created an app that let's you store and share your own medical records with whoever you wish to share with..

A vaccination record being one such type of record. Overall, was not opposed to what he was building after he discussed it.
