I’m doing drip irrigation so the plants don’t care, but the ground isn’t soggy and we’re only getting light rains right now. It’s perfect weather for things to ripen slowly on the vines. I might even get ripe melons!

In your climate I would harvest the ripe ones earlier and cure them in sunshine (if safe from frosts) for a couple of weeks before storing.
