I'm definitely not a supporter for state run schooling, but I don't think the metaphor suits the situation.

The timing of this attack, it's methodology, and the relevance of the issue is subjective. We do have people pushing for greater adoption right now and I'd say we are not even close to ready.

If a well know controversial figure or a snowden level whistle blower joined nostr today the adoption and visibility could skyrocket in a short period of time.

In my view we should be preparing for that.
