Les Miserable is hands down the greatest musical of all time.

Hmm. Have to challenge you on that one. Are we talking only broadway tho?

Yeah, I also have some thoughts on this 🥹

Sure. What would you challenge with?

So… I love Les Mes for sure, but I have to say phantom of the opera is one of my faves along with Chicago…but also have a bunch of off broadway faves

Phantom of the Opera has some nice songs (The Music of the Night, All I Ask of You) but nothing quite has the emotional power that almost brings you to tears of a woman betrayed in “I Dreamed a Dream”, the anguish of a man in “Who Am I” or just the sheer amount of stories and tunes somehow flowing together in “One Day More”. Of course a well sung “Bring Him Home” is technically impressive but the finale is the greatest ending of loss, hope, and joy.

Throughout the whole story of Les Miserable is the juxtaposition of a changed man who offers mercy to those who stumble and a man who carries out justice but cannot accept mercy and kindness from another.

I loved the musical Memphis. It broke my heart. Love and leaving/letting go and life and time 💞💞

Les Mis and Phantom - those are giants of shows indeed 😊

Ooooo and Once the Musical, y’all!

I actually haven’t seen either of those. Now I have some new ones to look into! Both look like they’re only a decade old too.

Mmhmm! 💛 Once was neat because all the cast members played musical instruments on stage. Irish vibes. Memphis I just relate to is all 😊 Still fierce show tho.

Saddam hussein emotionally manipulating a sexually confused satan to take over earth through the authoritarian execution of canadian comedians terrance and phillip, is truly the Lady Macbeth of our age. Blame Canada
