I'm usually out, mid-day sun. Got to crank the max brightness and it was still bad, then I used light mode again and was like "oh yeah, makes sense" - now I just set it to automatically detect and change according to the 'room' light

I use light mode on some LCDs but on an OLED screen, it's absolutely blinding! I like OLED/pure black dark modes. Better for the life of your screen anyways.
