My own take on it would be, not having a wife would bring me more happiness than having one. I have never been married and never wish to be married. I realise this is not the accepted "Norm" but I'm not one for following customs.
That said, I have no objections to your line of reasoning.

Felt. I’ve been married and divorced. Accepted staying single is probably best choice for me.
Either way: when a man worships his woman completely in the bedroom & neither uses sex as a weapon … humans are forced to treat one another as adults & be honest. Perfect relationship IME
