I believe it was also discussed as far back as just after WWII by other Presidents.

It was actually a really good video. I believe his "theoretical" take was near identical on the direction the US will take as what I had gamed out several years ago. I didn't realize the US already had such a military presents but I do remember several years ago that they did transfer several jets from Greenland to Antartica for airlift missions. The article I read emphasized the new mission in Antartica and a blurb of Greenland.
