I looked into it a bit. The biggest change is that my local card shop pretty much only does Commander format now. Seems like that became the most popular paper format.

All my friends who still play from time to time do Commander now. With a lot of proxies.

Haven't played in ages myself but the new booster pack structure looks confusing af
