Coinkite took Trezor's code & just rewrote shit to make it seem they didn't copy paste.
No one cared because that's the ethos of FOSS.
When you turn away from Open Source & then take VC money - you are literally admitting you cannot provide anymore value in an Open Source competitive environment.
You are admitting to relying on brand recognition.
