To me, the biggest issue is age. A healthy society is one that retires elderly people to a life of leisure, not having them in the most stressful jobs like running the country! It’s all unfolding like the 4th turning. Prophet generation is clinging onto power, nomad gen is skipped over. It’s time for the hero gen (millennials) to rise up! ✊

Great Book! Really changed how view the world and am no longer surprised at the craziness.
If the Strauss-Howe hypothesis is to be believed, ( it is a hypothesis after all), the defining characteristic of the midlife hero generation is overconfidence, eventually manifesting in political power which becomes the primary target of attack by the following Artist generation, as the next Awakening begins.
