If personal responsibility, ownership, and ultimately self-leadership doesn’t exhibit the behavior that freedom “requires” then the rungs on the freedoms ladder become fewer and fewer.

Why?

Because like you say, and especially as an adult, we are trusted (freedom) without taking responsibility.

And in the context of govt trying to control freedom, well—shame on us for abdicating so much of our innate God given freedoms away!

This is why lottery winners go bankrupt. If you haven’t figured out discipline and personal responsibility in your life, you will not be able to hold onto your money. This holds true in all facets of your character.
