Yes, it’s a good idea. Ingenious! But it’s counter intuitive for grandma. And it would help people be perfect on nostr. So I don’t know.
It would all be integrated into a single button click, but yes, is a bit of a ‘hack’
It is possible so someone will do it. So you could also just make it a proper feature. Maybe some metadata in the link for the client to know what to do with it?
Would it not defeat search also? Most clients allow to search the feeds by searching text in the notes. I think search will become a main thing soon for good UX as it need major improvement right now.
If it is a “delete note” feature that you are looking for, iris.to and snort.social already do that.
I have already posted notes in damus and deletes them in snort.
Maybe damus, nos or nostur will implement it?
Deleting is not deleting, but rather a request to delete. This does not have to be honored by clients.
There are algos that detect text in images, so not impossible.
Ahhh interesting, so when I delete a note on snort.social, even if Damus does not provide note deletion, it honours the fact I requested deletion on snort and won’t display the note to me? I thought it was NIP-09 and that it was handled on relays. But I guess after re-reading the NIP it seems to be a combination of both?
Yes, I think there is tremendous potential in mining data in media on nostr and nostr.build. Not just images but also audio and video. Would love to help: nostr would really benefit from better search capabilities so that people can gather around subjects of interest (other than nostr itself and bitcoin), and I think this would help.
