7 A woman came to Jesus with a perfume jar worth a year of income and poured it on his head.
8 The disciples were indignant. “Why this waste?”
13 Jesus said, "wherever this gospel is preached, what she has done will be told, in memory of her.”

Why, of all the stories, is this the one Jesus most associates with the gospel?
This woman's unreasonable, inappropriate public display of affection foreshadowed the unreasonable, unfathomable public display of affection Jesus would offer on the cross for sinners.
