You just articulated what I've been trying to put my finger on since I first saw it. It's not necessarily the "protocol" that is the problem, it's the architecture that is centralizing by design

regarding the original post, i understood that the complaint of "needing a bluesky account" refers to not many other public pds servers generally available yet, and that other pds users (for example blacksky) should be able to use their accounts
