The capital gains tax increase proposal is unlikely to get through Congress.

People often rebalance because if they are up like 500% and bitcoin becomes a quarter of their portfolio, they want to reduce volatility and shift some gains. The 20% long-term capital gains only take out a portion of that.

Not saying that’s the right way to do it, but many people want to spread out gains once they are up a ton.
