How can I define the „featured articles“? I see a section to pin them in the admin settings, but how do I get them there?

You are right, it's pretty straightforward. But you have to go through it in a trial-and-error kind of way. And a simple documentation would save time and give confidence in the workings of the tool. Maybe if there's time, users can write something once having gone through a site build process thoroughly.
Just do it. Have fun, no stress. You can make changes and tweaks along the way, try different things out, or completely delete it and start over. Each iteration you learn more and more what the options do. Choosing a theme is actually the hardest part. Like paint chips at a hardware store.

theme: simply v.0.4.0
...it just puts the last post to the top
You have to start typing in the box to find the posts !
If you make the post pinned it should appear in featured section if your theme supports that. If that's not happening please wait a bit - might be catching issue. If still no luck please let me know. Thanks!
