The cops in ny raided a guys house, took his pet squirrel & raccoon & killed em.
A squirrel life ≠ a human life
Some people eat squirrels so there is that.
The issue here is about property rights, not animal rights...the squirrel was property of the owner.
Therefore, that is where this arguement should be centered, and there should be a due recourse.
Wouldn't try to say there's an equality of value although I've met some pretty awful humans in my life.
I didn't understand what was going on. Side note while I enjoy watching squirrels they are delicious.
I do agree with the property rights thing. Still a dick move until I learn more about why killing them
Apparently, the squirrel bit one of the investigating officers, so they had to put it and the raccoon down to test for rabies

The people that did this are the real animals. Come on man! It's all about fiat. His nonprofit organization probably pissed off the wrong people. This is everything wrong with the system. Look beyond the squirrel. There is a real lack of humanity in the whole story. Very disturbing and sad.
