I think the “real” followers are the ones who make a conscious decision to spend time with your content. I mean, if I really value someone’s content (but they are not pushed to my attention through algos or ads) I will still actively go look for it because I really care. On the other hand, if the content is pushed by algos/ads, most times it will get a quick look but not real engagement.

So I guess ads give you numbers but not quality

You’re right! Ads might bring in views, but the real value comes from those who choose to follow because they connect with your content. It’s about building a genuine audience, not just chasing numbers.

Cheers :)

I guess it depends whether someone cares more about views/money or quality followers. I’m aware that my view is a “romantic” one, but do we wanna ignore the sense of fulfilling and wellbeing a sincere community brings you?! Ain’t nothing like it!!

But then again, I also think that if you are not emotionally open/mature you can’t even experience this, so there is some pre-work to do to actually being able to experience this “ultimate joy” and thus giving it priority. Ok I digressed, I’ll stop talking now lol

I totally get where you’re coming from! Building a sincere community brings a level of fulfillment that numbers just can’t match. You’re right—being emotionally open and ready to engage is key to experiencing that deeper connection. It’s definitely worth prioritizing, even if it’s not the quickest route. And hey, digressions are welcome anytime!
