it doesn't match the frames definition of token. ecash is bitcoin backed.

If an e-cash protocol really catches on, I'd expect tokens to be issued for all kinds of things like gift cards, rewards points, data usage on relays and mesh networks, bitcoin (obviously), and probably fiat as well.
