If Saylor's framing of "digital assets" gets adopted, where does #Fedimint / #Cashu fall? Is #ecash a "Digital Token"? It's backed by a "Digital Commodity"

Wasn’t it already that n e ways?

trying to grok how it'd fit. but yes, it's a bitcoin IOU token.

Then there’s no need to grok it?

it doesn't match the frames definition of token. ecash is bitcoin backed.

I accidentally liked this. 🙃

If an e-cash protocol really catches on, I'd expect tokens to be issued for all kinds of things like gift cards, rewards points, data usage on relays and mesh networks, bitcoin (obviously), and probably fiat as well.

IMO yes

what's the utlity it's offering?

Utility of ecash? Instant payments with near perfect privacy, redeemable for sats that can be self-custodied

fair.
