trying to grok how it'd fit. but yes, it's a bitcoin IOU token.
If an e-cash protocol really catches on, I'd expect tokens to be issued for all kinds of things like gift cards, rewards points, data usage on relays and mesh networks, bitcoin (obviously), and probably fiat as well.
