Well, a western musical scale has 7 major notes, the eighth is the resolve, a new beginning on a higher octave. If you acknowledge the flat notes you get 12 with the 13th being the resolve, beginning of a higher octave. So you could say that the 13th note is the resurrection of the cycle on a higher plane of existence.
