From the airport to the island, it’s manageable for any who’s done even minimal travel. Not very difficult at all. I would recommend getting an uber to puerto Juarez. I just checked the app and it costs $500MXN or $27 USD from the airport to Puerto Juarez. Takes about 30 minutes depending on traffic. We booked private transportation before hand and it was more expensive and took longer. I saw that it was a good idea on Reddit. I do not recommend doing this.

There’s an option to book a ticket that is redeemable within 6 months of purchase date on the selected route. This is what we did so we had our tickets reserved but weren’t rushed to make a specific ferry time.
