I haven't looked into it too deeply, but some female friends have told me their research brought them to the conclusion that when you modify hormones to cause the body to think it is pregnant it causes you to become less attracted to alpha males.

something like that. apparently pheromones cause you to be attracted to the correct major histocompatibility complex in mates to produce the optimal child immune system. and BC messes up your smell. idk
