I assume metrics in some clients pick these up as spam/ bot accounts.

Primal tells me these are on 0 relays although when I looked up another one in nostr.band (yes a bunch more have followed me LOL) I see

Based on the authentication line I assume this account (and possibly the others) wew created on the saltivka site. Looking at it, it's a few months old and the name seems to relate to a contested region in Eastern Ukraine so these bots are probably created by some edgelord faggot that's chosen a side of that conflict.

Hopefully as long as we don't follow them back it doesn't affect our metrics on trust etc so that we don't end up getting marked as spam.

This long name is a workaround for clients which don’t implement auth. And unfortunately some clients share this info without consent

Interesting, I've just checked and I'm also followed by a bunch of these.

I wonder if they're just seeding them and farming followers, on the basis that many people will just follow back without really checking.

Good to keep an eye on them and see what comes out when they do start talking.
