This is true. Conditioned to like it. Also, food preparation and cleaning is a factor. Add time value to food cost.
Granted, you may live less in the long run, but you know the time preference of most people is ASAP.
It's true making food is a hassle unless you legit enjoy it. I don't π but I get what you mean. Good is loaded with salts and sugars. Especially in the USA it's such trash but good tasting trash.

The time value part is a bit of a downer if you work all day, overtime even, and then have to decide between spending the couple hours between spending time with family, friends, self-improvement, entertainment, cooking, gardening, cleaning, home improvement, or just buying some good tasting trash to enjoy with family and friends while watching the game π
Yep pretty much. Been working 60 hour weeks don't really have time or energy to cook good meals. But it is what it is. Once it's done I will be getting more healthy with making meals.
I wish you luck in breaking that habit!
It's sad that the state of things requires people to work that much to survive.
