It’s probably hard to stay adversarial towards a system when you are no longer feeling its oppression.
Much easier to just leave the boiler room and let the machine grind on than to try to stick a wrench in it.
Hopefully diminishing returns will have the effect of giving people just enough resources and confidence to push back but not enough to make them so rich that they never feel the need to do anything hard ever again.
