Wait, is a soft fork an upgrade that dosen't need consensus?
For a time I had been operating under the understanding that a soft fork is an upgrade that reached consensus. But that's not really it right? It simply an upgrade you aren't forced to use.
It is a restriction to the consensus rules, allowing older nodes to accept it as a valid transaction.
