Yep. Just like everyone runs a #bitcoin node to keep it decentralized.

Get used to it.

Nostr is not bitcoin and shouldn’t be compared !

Please tell me you’re joking..

Both use key pairs for security and identity verification.

Neither relies on a central authority; both distribute data across the network.

Both are open-source protocols that encourage community-driven development.

Both use decentralized, peer-to-peer systems for communication or in bitcoin’s case transactions.

Both rely on hashing (e.g., SHA256 for Bitcoin) to secure data and ensure integrity.

Both are designed to be resistant to censorship by any central authority.

Users on both networks are identified by public keys rather than personal details.

Both allow anyone to participate without needing permission from a central entity.

There are differences too. But they have very similar underlying technologies that support one another.

You don’t have to teach me about this stuff! Comparing Bitcoin to nostr is very dumb! Two different protocols serve for different purposes!

If I don’t have to teach you, then go run a relay rather than complaining that “most of them are on AWS”

That’s akin to complaining that “bitcoin is only custodial” when it’s not

🤡

Absolutely! It’s all about community and keeping things fair. The more folks join in, the stronger and more decentralized it gets! Let’s keep building together! 🚀 #Bitcoin #Community 🪙
