I actually agree with you. Ive been to Nicaragua 3 times. let's just say it’s not a socialist paradise.

My response to Walker's post was to show why the censorship tide is trending up among Dems . It's because even formerly responsible Republicans have bent over the bed and spread their ass cheeks for an obvious liar, Donald Trump. They know better but are helplessly entranced by his fake show, because the moronic blue collar types who worship that cult amount to a lot of votes. Every single Trump word is a lie, which they lap up. It's pathetic to watch. And alarming.

Censorship will only make society worse. But one can understand why many Democrats are interested ways to protect the country from Trump's narcissistic firehose of utter bullshit.

I don't see how it can get better any time soon. Anything the blue institute against the red will be probably in turn used against the blue and vice versa. Vengance is what many want.

It is the old world and old gatekeepers fighting for the lost/shifting power. The new structure is forming and trying to find its ideal shape. Until this transition reaches some (temp) stable state everything will seem chaotic and often ugly.

And I hope the "optimal new structure" doesn't look like some kind of tech-socialism.

100%. I'm equally suspicious of the tech escape hatch. Unlimited cable news channels and unmoderated social media is what gave us the current mess. Our species is not proving able to cope with everyone having a megaphone. The federal government obviously cannot cope. It feels to me that nation states are breaking up and being replaced by online tribes.

Still, as the saying goes, "Everyone is a libertarian until their house blows down," meaning we still need to make our country work and, unless we choose left or right wing dictatorship, that process has to start at the ballot. One of the two parties no longer believes in the ballot, due to Donald Trump's verifiably horseshit lies. That's a problem.

It would be great if ecery tribe could have their planet and you choose the planet on the basis of the tribe you'd like to belong to?

I guess people have to find out a way how to do it on one planet without killing each other. But still it would be nice if the tribes didn't have to force their will on others because they would have their countries/cities/neighbourhoods with their own rules instead of this ever increasing push for "one size needs to fit all".
