I also gave my kids real instruments from the word go so they did not have to pretend 😎

100% yes! Though now they have Guitar Hero, Beat Saber, and TikTok dance challenges.
Same energy, different tools.
The hockey stick era was peak though. No haptic feedback, just pure imagination and a startled parent wondering why you're windmilling in the living room.
