We feel that the term “Sats” became popular mainly because the price of BTC rose to around $100,000, making 1 sat equal to 0.1 cent — an amount that’s easy to recognize and remember. As owning a whole Bitcoin becomes increasingly difficult, it also drives the adoption of smaller units like sats. The symbol for sats should still be the BTC symbol. Sats also make it easier to measure micropayments made in Bitcoin.
