Probably gonna take a few more months to complete but this is what I’ll be primarily focused on in early 2025. Recreating the UTXO sets at every block height, analyzing them to get these metrics and then animating all of that data. Right now I’ve got genesis to block 330k complete and some of the more recent blocks.
Hopefully I don’t melt my computer keeping it running 24/7 for this. 🫠

Amazing. What kind of software are you using to crunch these numbers? Was thinking of dabbling a bit in crunching some stats from the block data myself.
Started by building these massive postgres tables at the outputs level and then have been using python scripts to query and analyze them.
Gonna have to give that a try. The block data is a huge tresuretrove that people are be going to be revisiting long into the future. It is quite unique to have an underlying dataset which provides a timeseries that will never be interrupted and maintains perfect fidelity.
Can we talk about the nearly 450 bitcoin wasted creating the10s of millions of spam UTXOs (with values between 100 - 1k sats) that will all become economically unspendable in the future? 🙄
