Alright, I think I'm gonna off-load SimpleX. I installed it a few months back, and I was able to get some test users. (Thank you very much guys) It worked well enough, but since then crickets. No adoption, no Nostr integration, no critical user wave. No matter how good nap is, it has to achieve critical liftoff. Anyway, I'm saying there's not as a warning or a threat to anybody, but I want to leave the possibility that somehow I missed the boat. If you think there's a credible reason to keep this app, please let me know. Otherwise, I'm probably just going to remove it after tomorrow.
Discussion
I am going through the same thing with Sessions Messenger.
It appears most plebs message eachother right on nostr or use something like telegram.
The rest of the world uses facebook, instagram, iMessage, SMS, etc.
It appears quality secure and private messaging will only be used for specific scenarios by specific people unless one of them integrates with nostr somehow.
I am hopefully it will happen eventually.
There are some good groups on there. Have you used the SimpleX directory?
There is a directory?
This has not been my perception of SimpleX at all. There is great symbiosis between the SimpleX and the nostr communities. The SimpleX app is continually improving, and Evgeny is very receptive to feedback from nostr users.
There are exciting developments underway to greatly improve metadata privacy on SimpleX without relying on Tor.

I've taken all bitcoin related messaging to SimpleX. Feels much more private than Signal Messenger
