I think it actually Damus when you upload animated webp (not gif) . I had same issue. Below is direct upload of gif from Damus (not webp) 🐶🐾🫡

No, it’s just when you select an image in your iPhone photo folder, if it’s saved as webp, I noticed that it uploads jpg of the first frame. 🐶🐾🫡 gifs work as is, at least for me

Cool. I’m using double tap on the back to open Tenor at the moment, but good to know - can use some unique gifs saved on my phone now. Thanks

You can rehost them too, if you go to nostr.build directly and use URL upload feature 🐶🐾🫡
