A few weeks ago I posted this: nostr:note1ws0hzrs4jzfn33s23mp6rrpw2uk6cnhq9ww2l0303hcw3ffet9hsg98lz5 which was a friend’s crowdfunding campaign to get their family out of Gaza. Some of that money has been to used to get Hayat and her kids out, so 7 of them are now safe. Thanks in part to people who stepped up and donated via zaps on here. There’s still more family members to get out, but at least these kids will live and are safe.

Some people have asked who they’re paying money to. It’s a semi-offical egyptian government ‘tourism’ agency that charges Gazans to leave. Before the war it was $350 per adult and now it’s $5000 USD per adult and $2500 per child.

Part of the application process is applying for a visa; that’s why the price got higher, in a sense people have to apply through a semi-official travel agency and that’s why people with Egyptian passports, European passports or any passport other than Palestinian left first without applying through any agency.

One way to solve this is to grant visa-free travel to the Palestinian people. This should be done by other countries around the world I think.
