I think it would be pretty easy to setup a system such that your support agents don’t need to view any personal data from customers (could give your account ID instead of email to connect them to your account and the backend could do the validation of your secret questions using hashes so that data wouldn’t even need to be stored)… if Coinbase actually cared to do it

Yes, and/or.. How about exchanges don't collect home addresses at all. It's not needed. All they "need to know" is where the customer is a tax resident.

The policy on KYC must change.
