Yep. But I want to add a settings page to help people add any servers they want

That would be excellent. People could add their own personal servers then as well.
I've been wanting it for months. File references in notes depend on it and running a nostr relay is not too hard. If we can streamline the whole things so that everyone can be their own file server, it would be a better world then storing all our files in a handfull of hosts. Your notes are yours. Your files should be yours too.
Are you talking about media server (eg blossom?)
i was not. i was thinking about legacy media servers, but blossom integration would be great too.
Damn, I totally forgot about blossom. nostr:npub1ye5ptcxfyyxl5vjvdjar2ua3f0hynkjzpx552mu5snj3qmx5pzjscpknpr that shit is such a good solution.
I still want to use my own domain as a legacy file server too though. Could even have a note that defines your preferred file server...
I have not made a NIP for it, but for blossom servers users can use k:30063 events to advertise what servers they upload their files to https://github.com/hzrd149/blossom/blob/master/Nostr.md#user-server-discovery
Its integrated into next.nostrudel.ninja and blossom.hzrd149.com right now
also if you want to host a blossom server on your own domain for yourself you can run this https://github.com/hzrd149/blossom-server
Yea I saved this to run it later. But you know how starring works... ⭐
NIP this and make it a standard option across nostr!
Any chance to make an S3 connector?
I REALLY would like to host my images/stuff in S3 within a bucket with static web site enabled.
(I could maybe even help somewhat by providing feedback for the feature or maybe send some dev some sats for this feature?)
IMHO it's the simplest way to host stuff on the web.
As long as your server to receive images and put them own your S3 instance with your AWS credentials is coded accepting the NIP-96 interface it should work :)
