Nostr is pretty slow.
Logged into a different machine and legit waited 5 minutes for anything to appear in my profile and timeline.

it's pretty fast for me, maybe try adding some relays? i don't know how much influence latency has on nostr user experience, but maybe look for relays in your region.
is there somewhere I can see a list of relays?

You can try a mobile app, if you want:
- Damus on iOS
- Amethyst on Android
Maybe your relays are a long way from you. What do the response times look like for the ones you have connected to?
added this paid relay and it seems to have improved somewhat
There is also a paid relay accepting xmr at xmr.usenostr.org
