Everytime I see a merchant door with dozen of logo, like, €, CHF, $, Mastercard, Visa, AliPay, WeChatPay , Union Pay, Discover, Amex, ... I'm just dreaming about the day it will be Bitcoin only or GFY!
For real, I dont know how merchants can run a business worrying about interoperability with all these payment gateways and then all the waste in fees.
I feel like ones that adopt LN first will see the savings, encourage users to save by offering discounts, and run the others out of business or they need to convert, or atleast thats my hope, because this I need to support every payment option under the sun is dumb, and crypto wants to continue it
It will start in some country with limited banking/payment method, then a larger country will use it more and more and the tourists will be next, Bitcoin LN will be much less hassle than figuring out the accepted payment mean, the currency exchange fee, the cash withdrawal fees, the left over cash which is useless as soon as you reach the next airport. So places with lot of tourists might be first to accept Bitcoin LN in other countries with less local adoption. Also countries with a large community of foreigner might also push it further.
Little by little we will get there.
