Yes, 3 or 4 times. Watching it again now :)

Would have been cool to see it when it first aired in India.

I heard cities would virtually empty when new episodes aired because everyone basically stopped whatever they were doing to watch it.

100 Right, when I was 7-8 years old, this Mahabharata used to be shown in my village in the evening and the whole village used to sit together and watch it.
