It’s hard for me to say to an artist that the generated thing is art, so I think about it in the context of my field… is generated UX still user design? I think the answer is Yes. I’ve asked lls to think of the best UX and they definitely try. Usually the result is not great - but some of that could be due to my poor inputs and lack of context. “Reasoning” LLMs may be much better, we’ll see. But even today I’d classify the outputs as generated UX designs.

Art and design are conceptually and functionally two different worlds.
They have only two weak links: sometimes artists think they can necessarily be good designers, and sometime designers think to be artists outside the box in their works :)
AI is a tool that can be useful in functional contexts (designing, programming, problem solving, etc), but it seems a ontological non-sense in the artistic field, since it exclude both manual or intellectual abilities, _and_ the predictability of results.
