People say you can't solder dissimilar metals. Well, that may be true, but I sure can crimp them together. Might need some electrical tape to keep it from springing apart.

Have you seen any open source version of WaveRelay? Like a beam-forming MANET

No. I can't really tell if they have anything novel there. It looks like it's just a common standard for killer robots. Could be basic OOK or FSK under the hood. If you have something compatible, you could probably figure it out pretty quickly with an SDR. Or GNU radio if they use spread spectrum frequency hopping (like BT).

At any rate, I'm not interested in interfacing with anything that uses WaveRelay.
