In the phase of my mental cycle where I am wondering:

Am I missing something about how to operate as an adult, or is this all in system's design to demoralize and demotivate?

I do not know how other people manage their lives, but I struggle to get anything done beyond my job and daily survival.

We've had a number of mishaps in the last week (car accident, leaky roof, broken computer), all which require attention and money.

I don't understand how families have 2 working parents and still manage to get anything done outside of daily survival.

We are made for community. Local community. Online acquaintances are nice, but nothing replaces your local community—friends, family, neighbors, etc. If you’re not plugged into a community, life feels impossible really fast.

Yes and I am so grateful. Life would be much harder without it. We don’t have blood family nearby us, but we have built a close knit group of local friends throughout the years and we all know we can rely on each other when needed.

Yes. My wife has a big community, but I keep to my family, which I am sure is not great for me, but have found it really hard to connect with adults in the last 5-10 years.
