Whenever I see good products with bad names, I straight up tell them they should rebrand. Most of it is met with resistance and refusal. But eventually they all rebrand or die.

I was thinking the other day how bad some of the names of companies are. They all end in ‘ly’ or ‘fy’. Spreadsheetly or speechify or connectly
Everything is a spectrum and a lever. Good product, marketing, branding, advertising, significant value. A company can be great at some or many of these things and it could be enough. But, if you could gain an advantage by having one extra lever in your favor, why not…

It's also so much less of a big deal than most business owners/founders realize.
I understand being attached to the thing you came up with. People come up with narratives why something is a great name when it’s not. It’s something everyone is prone to. Helps to get outside perspective(s) early and try to argue for the opposing views.
